Help us get the community radio stations for Central London onto your FM dial...

On 6th July 2016 Ofcom invited applications from community groups who want to apply for an FM licence in London.

ZoneOneRadio - the community radio station for Central London - was founded in 2011, so we've been waiting for this moment for nearly five years!

We need to demonstrate "demand for service" and the way we've chosen to demonstrate this is with page "likes" on our facebook page.

So, if you'd like to hear ZoneOneRadio on FM, please like our page.

ZoneOneRadio was founded in 2011 with a grant from Team London - the volunteering arm of the Mayor of London's office.

We have two main aims:

1. To be a media platform for Central London - the most culturally divese and dynamic place to live, work and study on the planet.
2. To promote the professional, social and therapeutic benefits of volunteering and community engagement - with a focus on helping our unemployed volunteers into sustainable employment.

Since 2011 we've produced over 800 high-quality radio shows on topics as diverse as community sport, technology, the arts, food and local politics

We've also made specialist music programming covering genres including ambient, folk, world, urban, EDM, reggae and unsigned music

And we've made programmes in Spanish and Russian for the relevant communities in our area.

We've also helped over 30 of our volunteers into sustained employment for companies including Sky and the BBC.

On 6th July 2016, Ofcom invited applications from groups who want to apply to run a community radio station on FM within the M25.

The deadline for applications is 26th October 2016 and by then we have to demonstrate "demand for service"

We've elected to do this by measuring facebook page "likes" as of 1st August 2016, we had 929.

Please help us by liking our page.

If you'd like to support us further, we'd really appreciate a quick email telling Ofcom why you think we deserve the FM licence. Email

Or you could shre this post with your friends on facebook and your followers on twitter.

Thanks in advance,

The ZoneOneRadio Team
